Directions: In this module, you will explore the world of thermal and silk screen printing. Using step-by-step instructions, you will create a unique design to print onto a poster or T-shirt.
This guide contains several lessons. When you come upon the module, locate the guide and read the instructions for the lesson of the day. Following the lessons will give you an advantage of completing this module early. Students will complete all worksheets, take a photo of their working project, and save their work to the Technology Engineering portfolio.
  1. Complete the Pre-Tests and save to your portfolio.

  2. Locate and read the “Communication Technology Today and Tomorrow” book, Read pg. 322-325, take notes to enhance your learning for future references.

  3. Locate and read the Fact Sheet #1, identify the terms and take notes.

  4. Locate and read the Fact Sheet #2, identify and take notes.

  5. Complete the Study Sheet 1 and save to your portfolio.

  6. Complete Study Sheet 2 and save to your portfolio.

  7. Selection of a project format, T-shirt or Poster.

  8. Locate the Thumbnail sheet and begin designing your project, or use various Clip-Art or Word-Art items, save to your portfolio.

  9. Continue the design process and finishing of your thumbnail sketches, save to your portfolio.

  10. Use your Thumbnail sketch for selection of your final image and save to your portfolio.

  11. Transfer your final image to the computer for final preparations of completing the project, save to your portfolio.

  12. Using the printing computer, download your image and reverse the image.

  13. Locate the final image, print off, show instructor for approval, and locate thermal transfer paper from instructor.

  14. Locate the informational sheet to finish the printing process.

  15. Locate the Thermal Heater, using your design, print the image to a T - Shirt. Follow the instructions of the Thermal Heater.

  16. Locate the digital camera and take a photo and save to your portfolio.

  17. Complete the module / project critique sheet, save to your portfolio.

  18. Utilize the final oral worksheet to discuss the completion of the project with the instructor.
