  1. Always wear eye protection when operating the portable jig saw.

  2. Always make sure materials are clamped or secured before cutting.

  3. Always make sure that the blade clears materials when cutting.

  4. Make sure the type of blade is the proper blade for the material being cut.

  5. Don't pinch the blade by turning sharply or cutting too fast.

  6. Don't force the blade into the material being cut.

  7. When removing the jig saw from the material being cut, make sure the saw is in the off position.
