Personal Expository

Hey, my name is Jackie Jay. I am 13 years old and I have lived in Port Angeles all of my life. I have a big family, I enjoy running sports like track and cross-country, and I have clear future plans and know what I'm going to do after I graduate from high school.

First, Port Angeles has always been my home, but I also spend a lot of my time at my grandparents' house in Neah Bay. I have two older brothers. One is 19 and the other is 16. My family is very active. My aunt likes to make pizzas and my grandpa is a retired PE teacher. My mom has many sisters and two brothers so I also have a lot of cousins. I remember all of them and some of their birthdays. I love my family because they help my brothers and I when we need it. We try doing the same thing for them when they need it.

Second, I like to run in cross-country and track. I am currently deciding if I like sprinting better than distance or the other way around. Running outside on the three-mile loop is pretty fun because there are sprinklers on the trail and the team and I get to run through them and get cooled down. Also, running in the rain is great because there are mud puddles and we get to jump in them. In track, we get to ride busses for long periods of time, depending on where we go. Because my dad, brothers, and grandpa were good at running, I try to do what they did and beat their records.

Finally, after I graduate from high school I want to go to the same college that my grandpa and dad went to, which is Seattle Pacific University. Either I will become a doctor or lawyer when I grow up. If I can't be either of the two then I will be something productive to help people. The reason why I choose a doctor is because they get to help people and cure them. Sometimes they can even give them a new start in life. A lawyer is what I chose when I was little because I would argue with my mom in the mornings all the time. I want to get good grades so I can get a scholarship to go to college.

In conclusion, the three most important things to me are my family, sports, and my future. No matter what happens I will keep these goals close to me. I could not imagine a day without one of these things in my life so I try to be thankful that I can do theses things and dream about them every chance I get.
