Directions: Learn the basics of computer hardware, software, and operating systems.
  1. Print a copy of the test.

  2. Listen to a presentation about the parts of a computer and take notes so that you can identify and label the items on a test. Describe what the part did and why it was important to the computer.

  3. Identify and describe the following items: tower, monitor, keyboard, mouse, operating system, network card, hard drive, floppy drive, floppy disk, motherboard, battery, cpu, ram, power supply, and cooling fan on a written test.

  4. Learn about the Windows operating system and the hardware needed to run it.

  5. Print a copy of the test and fill out all parts and describe what they do. Do not use notes on your test.

  6. Take apart and assemble a computer.

  7. Install an operating system on a computer.
