Directions: Create a miniature golf course.
  1. Create a miniature golf course.

Example

1. Completing the units – Students completed 16 Applied Math units, ranging from Standard Measurement to Pythagorean Theorem. The pictures show the students completing a variety of tasks to get the units done.

2. Field Trip – The students that completed the units by the due date took a field trip to a miniature golf course. The purpose of the field trip was two-fold: a) to celebrate having finished all of the Applied Math units and b) to generate ideas for their own hole.

3. Shopping for supplies – After generating some ideas, the students went to a hardware store to do some research. Each group had a specific amount of money to spend and had to work cooperatively to decide how much of their budget to allocate to lumber, paint, turf, etc.
