Directions: This Unit has found the student who has completed the basic
introductory and qualifications of construction. They will now select an area of
interest from woods, metals, or plastics, and construct a simple, but quality
project. The module is design so that a student will select the materials being
used, design, transfer the design, and construct a high quality of workmanship.
This module should enrich each student’s mind and their ability.

Selection of the materials you may want to use.

Locate and view the "Examples," this will create
some ideas. (Video below should help).

Begin the design process, use Thumbnail sketches,
save to your portfolio.

Locate the instructor for evaluation of your design
and possible helpful ideas.

Finalize the thumbnail sketch; begin the Rough
draft explaining their work, which shall include a sketch, a procedure, and a
list of materials. Save to you portfolio.

Begin the construction phase; remember you need to
communicate with the instructor.

Upon completion of the construction phase, see
instructor for additional help.

Prepare for the finishing phase of your project...

Locate the Digital camera and take a photo, save to
your portfolio.

Locate the module / Project critiques sheet,
complete and save to your portfolio.
