Directions: In this module, you will explore the history of flight and experience the flying of an aircraft. The Flight Simulator program will give student the opportunity to take-off and land the aircraft, chart a flight plan and travel from airport to another. This simulation considers 47 important aircraft characteristics and includes an out the window, three dimensional, dynamic flight display and extensive flight controls. Up, Up, and away!
The module contains several lessons and the assessment of the student's progress. Students will be asked to complete all worksheets, saving your flight pattern, and placing their work in the Technology Engineering portfolio.
  1. Locate book "Microsoft Flight Simulator", review all chapters, take notes for future references.

  2. Review videos "Basic Flight", take notes.

  3. Locate the Pre-Test - complete and save to your portfolio.

  4. Review the Startup materials, "Getting started", and the basic techniques for flight.

  5. Locate the "Instrument Reading Sheets"; take notes for further reference. (These can be found in the module notebook).

  6. Locate Study Sheets #1, #2, and #3, complete - and save in your portfolio.

  7. Begin the "Flight Simulator Program."

  8. Begin with a simple Flight program - only use the Keyboard and Mouse.

  9. Locate different planes and exercises to gain confidence.

  10. Continue with the Flight Simulator Program, add both the yoke and foot pedals to your flight controls.

  11. Locate the "Flight Analysis Worksheet," complete the questions and save to your portfolio.

  12. Continue to improve your basic skills and confidence, enhance your vocabulary on flight terms.

  13. Practice take-off and landings @ various airports.

  14. Begin your project; design a trip - using various airports and airplanes.

  15. After completing your trip, contact instructor for evaluation.

  16. Locate the Post-Test, complete and save to your portfolio.

  17. Locate the Module / Project critique sheet, complete and save in your portfolio.

  18. Utilize the final oral worksheet to discuss the completion of the project with the instructor.
