Digital Literacy

I am a digital literacy student and the school is too because we have computers that are up to date, our teachers all have a computer in their classrooms, and we have a news show that we see every morning. The elementary schools don’t have that. Also we have teachers that use computers a lot more than paper and pencil.

The computers are up to date because we have the Internet and Microsoft Word that lets you change the color of your letters. Also we have to use PowerPoint to finish some of our homework.

Our teachers have our grades posted on the school web site and tell us to look up our grade online. Also, we get our progress reports from the web site that the teachers just print off. Sometimes in class we use pencils, pape,r and pens, but we mostly use the computers during when we are writing.

In our school we have a live news show that broadcasts every morning. When I was a sixth grader I thought it was so cool. Then I learned that it was pretty hard because you had to record it then place it on air every morning while editing out mistakes. Elementary schools don’t have this kind of technology.

I have told you some things that make me a digitally literate student, like producing a live news show every morning, using computers more than pencils every day, and also using computers that are up to date. That is why I am a digital literacy student.
