I would like to start a kite business called Wind’s Wings Kites. When I wad little, my dad took me to a doc to fly a kite for the first time. I was fascinated with the way it moved in the strong gusts of wind. Then when I was in fourth grade, we made decorative kites, and although they couldn’t fly, I still thought they were pretty. Finally, on my twelfth birthday, I got a sewing machine, and now I have decided to try to make decorative and flying kites.

This businesses products purpose would be simple; to make durable working kites, and to create decorative kites that hang on display. My business will be held mainly by my email, there is no physical building. But I will mainly make the items in my house. It is a good location because I will have all the materials that I need at my need.

I will be competing with the three websites Homemade Simple, My Best Kite, and Kite Making and Flying. I believe that there is room for competition, because there is no website that I saw that made decorative kites, so I have something new to offer. I will do better than these websites because they mainly have instructions for kites, but I already have materials and made kites, so that should put me up a level. The disadvantages are that they have no price for the instructions, so I will put instructions up too, so customers have the option of buying or making a kite.

A typical customer for me is a person who ways to fly a kite or have a decorative kite hanging in their rooms, usually a kid, sometimes an adult, and sometimes an elderly person. A kid, adult, or elderly person may want a kite to fly, more of a happy person, that wants something to do on a blustery day. But for a decorative kite, it will be more focused on kids, sometimes an elder, but rarely an adult. Kids want more colorful decorative kites for their room. I plan to serve about 30 or less people in a month, not many people may be interested in my site, so only a few will look. This is good also because it gives me more time to make a quality kite. Finally, I plan to connect with my costumers by letting them comment on my website, and if I do sell to them, I will write a thank you note to the person.

I will get people to by my product by using the internet; I will be a true posted website. I will set my business price by how much fabric was used, and the quality of the kite. For an estimate, it will be some where around $5.00 for the best flying kites, and $4.00 for the best decorative kites. But I do not know yet, I need to see the material first.

I plan to create as many as I can with my supplies on the weekends. I will check every two days for orders, so any order is never late. And to make sure I have the materials, I can also ask for them on holidays and events like that.

I need about two or three employees, one will check supplies and keep the amounts, one will help me with making them, and the last one will help me with the costumers. My job will be mainly making the kites, and seeing to customers. My employees will come from my family, they are available and I hear that family owned businesses are very good. I will pay them hourly, because their work periods of time will not be long, so they need to be paid by the hour that they work. They will make somewhere around $2.00 to $4.00, depending on the work that they do and how well they do it.

I am ready for this job. I have my full business plan set out, I have access to all of the materials that I need, and the people that I need. I have worked in a team before, and I have the technology to do this. All I have to do is start it, with my first kites, and I will have had enough experience to make a jump start to my future.
