Directions: Create a word process business plan that outlines a proposed business. Answer the following questions in your word processed business plan.
  1. Create a folder called business.

  2. Create a file called business_plan.doc and save it in you business folder.

  3. Visit the following business plan website and read about starting a business.

  4. In the word processed document describe your business. Describe a business that you would like to start. Include a business name, a short history about why you want to start the business, an explanation of the product and/or service you will provide, where your business will be located, and why you believe the location is good for you business.

  5. Evaluate your competition. Describe at least three similar businesses that you will compete with. Are these other businesses doing well and is there room for another business in this industry. Why will your business do better than other businesses that already exist. Describe the advantages you have over your competitors. Describe your disadvantages and what you will do about them.

  6. Understand your customers. Describe your typical customer in detail. List personal characteristics of your customers. Define how many customers you plan to serve. Explain how you plan to connect with your customers.

  7. Describe your market strategy. How will you get people to buy your product/service? How much will you sell this product/service for? How will you set your prices?

  8. Develop a product and inventory plan. How do you plan to maintain an adequate supply of the product or service your plan to provide.

  9. Develop a management and personnel plan. How many employees do you need and why? What is each employee's job (including your own)? Where will you find your employees? How will you pay employees your employees (hourly, salary, commission, etc.) and how much will they make.

  10. Describe your qualifications. Describe why you are qualified to operate this business. Describe your management experience and why you will be successful.
